New Zealand says no to Culture of Death

Right to Life is pleased that the people of New Zealand have rejected a culture of death by refusing to elect a
Labour/Green government that supported the decriminalisation of abortion.
This proposal would have intensified the war against women and violence against unborn children who are the weakest and
most defenceless members of the human family. The proposed legislation would have removed unborn children from the
protection of the Crimes Act and would have meant that it was no longer a crime to kill an unborn child, for any reason
effectively up to birth. It would have exposed women to increased exploitation and abandonment by the father of their
child.
The Labour Party has become beholden to groups that are promoting destructive social engineering that undermine the
common good.
The Labour Party also supports euthanasia which would allow doctors to kill their patients or assist in their suicide.
The first duty of government is to protect the lives of all of its members from conception to natural death. Both the
Labour and Green Party present a serious threat to the most vulnerable members of society, the unborn, the disabled, the
aged and those who are dying. Labour’s failure to promote the common good disqualifies them from government.
It is important for our democracy that we have a credible centre left Political Party that can govern. Right to Life
encourages the Labour Party to explore its founding principles which were to promote the family and protect workers and
the vulnerable in society. The Labour Party has become beholden to groups that who are promoting destructive social
engineering that undermine the common good.
Right to Life believes that the Labour and Green Parties, lost the 2014 election on the 17 April 2013, when they
inflicted on New Zealand the destructive same sex marriage bill of Louisa Wall, strongly opposed by the vast majority of
New Zealanders. Concerned voters had not forgotten.
Politicians who ignore the will of the people, do so at their peril.
