The Kiwi FM Alternative Election Commentary

Saturday 20 September from 7pm on 102.2 Auckland, 102.1 Wellington, 102.5 Canterbury, or KiwiFM.co.nz

Rose Matafeo and a group of the comedians and creative minds behind 7 Days and Jono and Ben at Ten will be broadcasting New Zealand's first ever* alternative election commentary this Saturday on Kiwi FM.

Tune into TV3's pictures, but listen to Kiwi FM for audio from Tom Furniss, Guy Montgomery, James Roque, Sam Smith, Jamaine Ross, Louise Beuvnik, Eli Matthewson and Matt Stellingwerf and more.

A series of cameo phone crosses from around New Zealand, and overseas will feature Dai Henwood, Justine Smith, Jeremy Elwood, Jono Pryor, Ben Boyce and others.

Jono and Ben at Ten star, Rose Matafeo says: "We have very few real television events these days, and a lot of people I know are having election parties on Saturday night, so why not get together with my best comedy pals and share our party with the rest of New Zealand.

"The people who are doing the commentary are the 'mini-mes' of the 7 Days and JABAT stars - we're in our twenties, so you'll be getting political commentary from a demographic whose voting numbers have been pretty low the last couple of elections."

Kiwi FM Programme Director, Tim Homer says: "This is bloody exciting for us; nobody knows less about the election than we do, and what better way to convey that than with this ragtag mob.

"On a serious note though.... KIWI FM is here for the promotion of young and upcoming talent, both in the world of music and of course the world of media, so to be able to promote the next generation of media talent excites us."
