NZ Independent Coalition looking forward to tomorrow
“Our team is looking forward to tomorrow. It is a real opportunity to reclaim politics for the people,” said NZ Independent Coalition leader Brendan Horan.
“Throughout this campaign, the old parties and their leaders have demonstrated a complete lack of vision and disregard for ordinary people. They’ve been captured by big money and special interests. It’s little wonder so many New Zealanders feel disillusioned with politics.
“The solution is to return power to local communities and give them an independent voice in Parliament that will represent the views of the people. NZ Independent Coalition candidates will provide that voice.”
“In addition to giving local communities an independent voice, we have a plan for tackling unemployment. The first step is for a Ministry of Job Creation to be established. It will isolate skills and competencies that will be valued in 2020, so we are able to provide educational pathways to up-skill children, young people and the existing workforces. Higher skills equates to greater productivity, which means employers can pay higher wages.
“The second step is a Financial Transaction Tax on banks and foreign exchange speculators. This will net an extra $9.5 billion per year - more than enough to funding living wages and pensions, and create an environment for a zero-fees model in tertiary education with planned placement and bonding.
“The Independent Coalition is part of an international movement. People all over the world are recognising that party politics has been captured by an elite minority who survive on cronyism and big money.
“People are realising that change can happen. So please join the New Zealand Independent Coalition on Saturday in reclaiming our democracy. Let’s restore power to the people,” said Brendan Horan.
