Māori Television’s KOWHIRI 2014 – ELECTION SPECIAL kicks off at 7.00pm this Saturday with a five-hour broadcast focusing on the Māori electorates.
Anchor Mihingarangi Forbes will be joined by political editor Maiki Sherman and Te Kāea news presenter Piripi Taylor and
guests including, Dr Ella Henry, Scott Campbell, Morgan Godfery, Sandra Lee, Ward Kamo, Dayle Takitimu and Tau Henare.
Reporters will also be in each of the Māori electorates following the winners.
The coverage will be streamed live on www.maoritelevision.com where viewers will be able to check out the most up-to-date results and graphics of how the votes are coming in as well
as Native Affairs tweets and Te Kāea Facebook updates.
Māori Television’s online coverage will be accessible on all computers and mobile devices, making it easy for people to
check in to see the results as they like.
The channel will be back on air from 9.00am on Sunday, September 21 with the two-hour KOWHIRI 2014 – ELECTION REVIEW SPECIAL to present and unpack the results.
To round up KOWHIRI 2014, Native Affairs will dedicate its programme on Monday September 22 to focus on the results in the Māori electorates, look
closely at Māori who were elected in general seats, and talk to any new Māori MP’s as well as the leaders of the
parties.
