Immigration calls for registrations of interest as part of new online medical system
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is seeking registrations of interest for a new onshore panel physician network to support an online immigration health processing system.
Doctors and radiologists will only be able to complete immigration medical examinations for New Zealand visa applicants if they are listed on INZ’s onshore panel physician network and use the new system, known as eMedical.
eMedical will allow physicians to submit medical certificates and x-rays online and will be rolled out from March 2015 in New Zealand. After full implementation, the majority of applicants’ health information will be received electronically through eMedical.
The Registration of Interest (ROI) document for the onshore panel is now available on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) website. Registrations of interest must be submitted by 12pm on 30 September 2014.
The changes are part of INZ’s move to online services. Students around the world can already apply for visas, pay fees and upload documents online.
Next year, online applications will cover visitor and work visas, as well as the Chinese language visitor visa form. At the same time, third party partners such as immigration advisers, education agents and education providers will get the ability to apply on behalf of their clients.
