Green Party co-leader Russel Norman told TV One’s Q+A programme that they would close Waihopai and review the role of the GCSB and our participation in Five Eyes.

“It would actually work much better if the cyber-protection functionality was separated from the GCSB, because at the moment if you work at the cyber-protection agency it means you're working with the GCSB. GCSB of course share all their information through the Five Eyes. So it would actually be better for New Zealand companies to have a standalone cyber-protection.”

Russel Norman told Susan Wood that the largest party gets Prime Minister and the rest is on the table.

“..what we said is largest party gets to be the Prime Minister, fair enough, everything else is on the table and it's got to be proportional according to the votes you get. We're a democracy, that should be the determining factor.“

When asked if Russel Norman was tactically wrong to starting talking about working with National, Metiria Turei said, ‘I think it's absolutely right for the public to know that we've been such a strong opposition in the past and we intend to be strong leaders in government as well, and that’s what we've been talking about now for this whole campaign. But remember National is going to lead New Zealand to the cusp of another 100,000 kids in poverty and more dirty rivers.’

Metiria Turei said she is keen on a social portfolio.

“I can deliver on ending child poverty through a number of portfolios including social development, education, housing. That’s all possible. The most important thing is that our policies get through and we get traction.”
