3 September 2014
BRANZ today welcomes the announcement of the National Science Challenge on better homes, towns and cities by Hon Dr Nick Smith at the Building a Better New Zealand conference.
The new National Science Challenge will provide a new approach to science investment and research around these key issues for New Zealand. It complements the industry research strategy, Building a Better New Zealand which was developed by BRANZ, the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE), Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Construction Strategy Group (CSG)
Chelydra Percy, CEO BRANZ commented: “BRANZ has been working hard with the building research community and industry to help bring this Challenge forward. It’s a great opportunity to address nationally significant problems around better homes, towns and cities. The Challenge will bring forward new solutions and provide a platform for innovation.
”This Challenge is a significant opportunity for all of the research community to work together. BRANZ looks forward to working with MBIE, industry and other research organisations in shaping and delivering on this key national initiative.”
