Association welcomes new Chief Executive

“The New Zealand Police Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Verry to Chief Executive. Heather picks up the mantle from Chris Pentecost, who recently retired from this position,” Police Association President Greg O’Connor said today.

“Heather is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Manfeild, where during her five years there, she has overseen the expansion of their services and capacity,” Mr O’Connor said.

“Prior to Manfeild, she was acting Chief Executive at Victim Support New Zealand.”

The Police Association represents over 11,000 currently serving constabulary and police employees. Alongside the Association group’s industrial and legal representation, it also controls one of NZ’s largest private health plans, looking after the health of some 33,000 members; maintains a large property portfolio nationwide; and provides a variety of services, including a range of insurance and financial products to members.

“Heather will take up the position 1 December 2014, becoming the Association’s first female Chief Executive,” Mr O’Connor said.
