A Whangarei woman allegedly censured for greeting customers with Kia ora can get in touch with the Human Rights
Commission says Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy.
“We really need to resolve these kinds of issues. I had thought that the days of people being censured for speaking
Maori were over but perhaps I was wrong,” said Dame Susan.
“Either way it’d be helpful for everyone if this issue and others like it are resolved amicably and positively. Our team
of expert mediators are some of the best in the world so there’s no better place to start than the Human Rights
Commission.”
