Party politics well past its Use-By date
There is one valuable lesson from Nicky Hager’s book: that the age of party politics is passing for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
“What we have learned from Dirty Politics is that, for far too much of the time, New Zealand politics is being driven by party agendas, and that parties are now corporate entities disconnected from the people,” said NZ Independent Coalition leader Brendan Horan.
“Rather, our nation needs representatives who listen to locals in their area. New Zealanders are disgruntled with party politics and petty inter party squabbles, and want something better.
“With a vote for Brendan Horan in the Bay of Plenty electorate, and a party vote for NZ Independent Coalition in all electorates, voters will be assured of representatives who put the people of the electorate ahead of a party agenda,” he said.
NZ Independent Coalition has a concept that is simple and common sense: We offer political representation by locals for locals, and using electronic media you will be able to instruct your MP how to vote on major legislation throughout the political term, ensuring inclusive and progressive politics.
