Ban1080 Party
Press Release
“Can 1080 belong to exclusively to any group? We are mindful that when we talk about 1080, it is a poison that we wish to see withdrawn from NZ use.
However, 1080 is also part of 1080 Angel Water, 1080 is an IPS Monitor, or camera or projector or sound system. There is even a Wurlitzer 1080.
Facebook has Ban 1080, Ban1080, Stop1080, Stop 1080 poison and so on. We know the Electoral Commission must be stringent in their application of their job in vetting new political parties but really it is a joke to suggest that 1080 belongs to anyone as it is used by such a wide variety of uses throughout the World, not just NZ and for each of them a different meaning.
If the Ban1080 party is to be thrown out because of the word 1080 supposedly belonging to one party, it is certain that those who poison will have been able to exercise undue influence for their own gain. What are they frightened of? They hold a monopoly on this poison use and it is time others were able to say freely that they do not agree with it.
In 2009 Federated Farmers Trademarked “FATE” to try and make our organisation go away. “ FATE” is trademarked up til the year 2019 and was handed to the then Animal Health Board to use one day.
Federated Farmers, which does not represent all of NZ farmers, lost a number of members because of this – their job is to represent farmers after all, not to blindly follow the dictates of one sector or another.
Opposition to the Ban1080 political party will not make those dissatisfied with 1080 “go-away” rather as Farmers Against Ten Eighty has grown and extended its influence, Ban1080 will become the catch cry for all New Zealanders who look into the use of this cruel poison.”
