ALCP only party to support Charlotte's Web
There has been no support shown for Charlotte's Web by other political parties, Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party leader
Julian Crawford says.
Last week ALCP called on all political parties to state their position on Charlotte's Web and similar treatments for
life-threatening pediatric epilepsy, but there was absolutely no response.
Charlotte's Web is a low-THC variety of medical cannabis named after the first patient to experience its seizure
reduction properties, 7-year-old Charlotte Figi.
"Anyone who wants to see medical cannabis treatments such as Charlotte's Web available in New Zealand, has just one
choice this election and that is the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party," Mr Crawford said.
"Only the ALCP is committed to ensuring patients receive urgent, life-saving treatment as soon as possible, without the
need to relocate to Colorado."
Mr Crawford said the excessive costs, business monopoly and lack a variety in New Zealand's existing medical cannabis
regime were untenable for the vast majority of patients.
