This weekend on The Nation
On The Nation this weekend…. With the Maori seats primed to play a pivotal role this election, Torben Akel reports from the key battlegrounds and meets the top contenders. Then the Maori Party co-leader Te Ururoa Flavell and Mana Party leader Hone Harawira will face off in their first ever television debate. They’ll discuss coalition deals and how to best bring about real gains for Maori.
And Australian Treasurer Joe Hockey was in New Zealand this week and gave his only extended interview to Lisa Owen. Given Kiwis’ lack of access of entitlements in Australia, just how important is the ANZAC spirit these days? What concessions is he willing to make? And will his tax increase push Australians over the Tasman?
We’ll discuss all this and more with our panel: Hive News founder Bernard Hickey, former Labour Party President Mike Williams, and communications consultant Scott Campbell.
