EPA update: Submissions on CRP marine consent application available
The submissions received on the application by Chatham Rock Phosphate Ltd for a marine consent to mine phosphate nodules
from the Chatham Rise are now available for viewing on the EPA website.
The submission period closed on 10 July 2014. The EPA received 279 submissions and 79 submitters wish to be heard by the
Decision-making Committee.
The breakdown is as follows: 95 support the proposal, three are neutral and 181 oppose.
Public submissions are an important part of the publicly notified application process. All the submissions received on
the CRP application will be considered by the Decision-making Committee that has been appointed to make a decision on
the application.
