SSC Releases Performance Improvement Framework (PIF) Reports
The Performance Improvement Framework (PIF) reviews released by State Services Commissioner Iain Rennie today include the full reviews of the Department of Conservation (DOC) and the Treasury.
Scheduled to be released later this month are two Legislative Branch PIF full reviews covering the Parliamentary Service and the Office of the Clerk.
PIF reviews substantially underway and due for completion later this year are the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and the Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO).
In addition, follow-up PIF Reviews for the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), the New Zealand Customs Service, the Ministry for the Environment (MFE), the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the Ministry of Transport (MOT), and Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) will be published over the next two months.
As part of the government’s commitment to Better Public Services, a PIF review looks at how ‘fit-for-purpose’ an agency is now and into the future. PIF also helps inform the four-year planning process of government agencies.
“PIF is about future-focused improvement, not past performance,” Mr Rennie said.
“After the PIF review, the agency then works collaboratively with central agencies and across the sector on how it can make these improvements happen,” Mr Rennie said.
The reports and more information about PIFs are available on the SSC website at www.ssc.govt.nz/pif
