Internet Mana Hitting the Road for Change
The Internet MANA election-year road trip starts in the Far North next week.
The Internet MANA Party-On-Tour will be led by Hone Harawira and Laila Harré, supported by Internet Party founder Kim
Dotcom and local candidates.
“Talking with the people about the issues that matter to them is what Internet MANA is all about,” said Internet MANA
leader Hone Harawira. “The advantage of the tour is we get to talk to them where they live.”
Starting with a formal blessing in Cape Reinga on July 15, the northern leg of the Internet MANA road trip takes in
Kaitaia, Kaikohe, Kerikeri, Whangarei and Auckland.
The road trip then breaks for the Internet Party’s national music tour – the Party Party from July 23-26 – before
rolling on again throughout the country heading south to Bluff.
“This is the stuff of life,” said Mr Harawira. “We need to hear what the people feel about our hopes for Aotearoa New
Zealand. It's the people we want to empower to lead the movement.”
Internet MANA, an alliance between the MANA Movement and the Internet Party, was a huge part of the call for change this
election year, said Ms Harré, leader of the Internet Party.
“The Internet MANA party is an historic coming together of two strands of our people – our community woven together with
our technological potential.”
A key focus of the tour was to mobilise voters, said Mr Harawira.
“We can’t allow a repeat of last election when half of our young people couldn’t be bothered voting.”
