Opening Salvo in Election Battle
Colin Craig has taken on the critics who have labeled him and his Party as crazy, with the Conservative Party's opening advertisements in the 2014 election campaign.
"The topic of our first advertisement is 'Safer Streets ...and other mad ideas'. While our opponents attempt to label our ideas as crazy, we are confident that everyday New Zealanders will see our party as the epitome of common sense."
In what is a departure from the 'gotcha' politics which we have seen from both Labour and National, the Conservatives are talking policy, and their launch advertisement is all about Justice, Law and Order.
“We know people are fed up with petty sniping about trivial things that are distractions from the real issues,” says Colin Craig.
''It is time the voters got information about where the party’s stand on things that are important to everyday New Zealanders, we want people to know who we are and what we stand for," says Mr Craig.
“The response from my announcement that I would be contesting the East Coast Bays electorate has been very encouraging and the clear message is people want to know more about the Conservative Party.”
"Our Law and Order policy is very clear, it is time to stop discounting justice and instead hold people fully responsible for their actions."
"We stand for tougher penalties."
"Victims and their rights are more important than criminals in our eyes," says Mr Craig.
"People should not be worried about being safe in their own homes or about escalating violence in their local communities. It is therefore time to make some changes"
"We are confident voters will see this policy as the only sane way to approach law and order."
