“Waitakere Man” Conservative Party Candidate not going to apologise for “being a man”.

A West Auckland private social service provider, academic, consumer advocate, media commentator and local West Auckland resident says that it is time for the electorate of New Lynn to have a parliamentary representative who actually lives in the area representing the Electorate, and not one in David Cunliffe who is so willing to emasculate his own gender whilst being perpetually absent from his electorate.

Steve Taylor is the Director of 24-7 Ltd, a private practice Counselling & Mediation service based in West Auckland; a Head of Faculty for a major international tertiary provider; a former supervisor of a Woman’s Refuge; a Consumer Advocate for mental health, family court, and victims of fraud; and a resident of West Auckland.

“I am raising my family in West Auckland, and I have become tired of watching New Lynn Parliamentary David Cunnliffe embarrass himself time after time after time as our electorates Parliamentary representative, each embarrassment anchored in Mr Cunliffe's deeming utter inability to be seen by the country –at-large as trustworthy”.

“I have observed David Cunliffe botch a policy launch on paid parental leave; claim to be living “down-market” in a $2.5 million dollar home in Herne Bay; claim political transparency whilst setting up a secret trust for his Labour leadership bid; make preposterous claims on his CV; politicise ANZAC day by falsely claiming his father won a bravery award; suffer amnesia over his advocacy for Donghua Liu, who was never a New Lynn constituent, and who has admitted making donations to the Labour Party, for which no-one can seem to find any meaningful record, and now we find that Mr Cunliffe is now apologizing for his very existence as a male”.

Mr Cunliffe is patently wrong to state that most men commit most of the domestic violence.

A long-standing NZ population study confirms that most of the domestic violence committed (excluding fatal occurrence) is evenly split between men and women:

A 2012 Family Violence Death Review report also revealed the rather “inconvenient truth” that the majority of children killed by their mothers in domestic violence events:

“Frankly, as a resident of West Auckland – I’m over this spurious nonsense, and most New Lynn voters I talk to are over it as well”.

“It is telling that in the 2011 election, almost as many New Lynn Voters chose not to vote, as much as those who voted for either Labour or National – it seems to me that New Lynn needs a local representative to both re-engage these missing voters, whilst having someone “on the ground” locally to represent local interests.

The New Lynn electorate needs what the political beltway commentators have called “Waitakere Man”, although without the patronizing assumptions of these same commentators.

Being a resident of West Auckland; having three formal qualifications; having my family being raised in West Auckland; and my wife I and being homeowners in West Auckland, I believes most suitably qualifies me for the title of “Waitakere Man” for the New Lynn electorate.

Mr “Tricky, Dicky” Cunnliffe has now become a sad and pitiful liability to having any meaningful interests of the New Lynn Electorate being represented, and as a perpetual non-resident of his own represented Electorate (following a pitiful Labour Party tradition of 51 years), Mr Cunnliffe cannot credibly claim that he is representing our interests – only one of our own in our Electorate can actually do this.

After 51 years of the Labour Party flying in outsiders into the New Lynn electorate, I’m now standing up under the banner of the Conservative Party of New Zealand and as a local resident of West Auckland, and saying “Vote for a Local –Vote for Steve Taylor – & Party Vote Conservative”.

“It’s now game on between David “Tricky Dicky” Cunliffe from Herne Bay and Steve “Waitakere Man” Taylor from West Auckland”.

The New Lynn Electorate (and the missing 14,000 voters) now has someone locally legitimate to vote for on September 20th, 2014, said Mr Taylor.
