The week Sir Owen Glenn's investigation panel into family violence and child abuse delivered what it called The People's Report. It's a sobering account in the words of survivors about the damage violence is causing to families, and the failure of the police, court system and government agencies to deal with it. In KKM on Saturday Eru Morgan talks to Te Rarawa chair Haami Piripi, who has just been appointed to the Families Comission about the report and about the effects of urban drift and the legacy of violence that came back with the tupuna who had gone off to serve in the country's wars.
Sunday 22 June 2014
It's been a tough week for Labour. Polls showed support dropping as low as 23 percent, and leader David Cunliffe was blindsided by a revelation he had written a letter to Immigration on behalf of controversial businessman and National Party donor Donghua Liu. On Sunday, political commentator Henare Kingi discusses whether he resign or box on.
