Internet Mana Logo Submitted
Internet MANA has submitted its proposed logo to the Electoral Commission for registration.
An alliance of the Internet Party and the MANA Movement, Internet MANA will contest the party vote at the General
Election on September 20.
The Internet MANA logo will appear on voting papers in the party vote section. Each component party will retain separate
identities and candidates when contesting the electorate vote.
Hone Harawira, MANA leader and MP for Te Tai Tokerau, said Internet MANA would actively pursue the party vote.
“We will be running strong, visible campaigns in individual electorates but the party vote is our focus. New Zealanders
have been saying that they want their party votes to count and the Internet MANA alliance gives them confidence about
this. A party vote for Internet MANA won’t be a wasted vote – every vote we earn will make a difference in changing the
government.”
Internet Party leader Laila Harré said both parties were looking forward to campaigning together under the Internet MANA
banner.
“The unity, purpose and commitment we’ve already established has been exceptional. Together we’re both stronger and,
most importantly, we will be a strong and effective voice for our people in Parliament.”
The Internet Party will announce its list of candidates, headed by Ms Harré, as well as the electorates most will stand
in, on Thursday. MANA will announce its candidates in the coming weeks.
MANA will have first, third and fourth positions on the combined Internet MANA list. Mr Harawira will be first on the
list and Ms Harré second. The Internet Party also has fifth and sixth spots and subsequent places on the Internet MANA
list will be assigned on an alternating basis between the two component parties.
