Marama Davidson honoured to be ranked at 16 on the Green Party list

Marama Davidson, Green Party candidate for Tamaki Makaurau, is pleased to be at number 16 on the final list ranking released by the party today.

“We are aiming to win at least 15% of the vote in the election on September 20. With a strong party vote I would become a Member of Parliament.”

Marama Davidson was an Advisor with the Human Rights Commission for 10 years. She was asked to stand for the Green Party in the Ikaroa-Rawhiti byelection last year due to her work in social justice and communities. Ms Davidson is new to the list and appears first out of all the list newcomers. Her main message is that Tamaki Makaurau voters could essentially get two candidates out of the one electorate.

“If people believe that I can be an effective voice in Parliament, their party vote for the Greens is what will help me get in there. I am committed to representing the Tamaki Makaurau electorate as a list MP. Voters could then give their electorate vote to whoever else they would like to represent them.

Ms Davidson is a mum to six children and has been an advocate for the wellbeing of women and tamariki. She is particularly concerned about the housing crisis in Auckland and how this is impacting on families. Marama Davidson is looking forward to talking to people about the Green Party policies that are about putting children first and giving communities a voice.
