Berry Welcomes Bennett to Race
Act Upper Harbour candidate Stephen Berry today welcomed National Party Minister Paula Bennett to the contest to be elected MP for the electorate. “I’m glad Paula has been selected as the candidate and wish her success in the coming campaign.”
Stephen Berry says that he will not be seeking the electorate vote in this year’s election. “An electorate vote for me will simply be wasted and increase Labour’s chances of taking the seat. I’m asking that National supporters consider splitting their vote to put some backbone into a future centre-right coalition Government.
“If you support National’s welfare reforms then give your party vote to Act. National needs to have a significant coalition partner to continue on this path and Act is the strongest advocate of welfare reform in Parliament. A National government dependent on a variety of small parties will stagnate; a National –Act coalition be able to take the necessary steps to reduce government spending and grow the economy.
“If you want a National-led Government, vote Paula Bennett in Upper Harbour and Party Vote Act.”
