Budget Response from Greenpeace
Responding to today’s Budget, Nathan Argent, Greenpeace’s chief policy advisor, said:
“This Budget shows a deficit of ambition. There is nothing in here to back our potentially world-leading clean energy sector, which could provide tens of thousands of jobs and give the economy a multi-billion dollar boost.
“Leading finance houses are pouring money in to clean energy, and smart governments around the world are realising this.
“But this Budget has instead ignored the New Zealand-grown industries that would put this country at the heart of a growing global industrial sector.
"A smart, sensible Budget would have established a clean energy investment bank to support business investment in energy efficiency and sustainable transport fuels.”
