Call for inquiry over driver licence tests
The government should hold a full, public inquiry into the issuing of drivers’ licences, says the car review website
dogandlemon.com.
Editor Clive Matthew-Wilson, who is an active road safety campaigner, says:
“I’m deeply concerned at the number of complaints that have emerged about the current system. Despite reassurances from
the government, there is a widespread belief that competent motorists are being failed for petty excuses, even if their
driving is of a high standard.”
“There is also widespread public concern that the private company that issues drivers’ licences is rorting the public.
Perhaps it’s not. Perhaps it is. Clearly, a full, public inquiry is needed to restore the public’s faith in the current
system.”
