Community treatment services welcome funding for prevention of sexual offending
The Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) sector has welcomed additional Government funding to support sexual violence services in preventing harm to children and families.
“Both within our specialist clinical assessment and treatment services and in working with Government agencies we know full well the consequences of sexual offending, and are very pleased to see this welcome support for services that are helping to reduce its incidence,” Jacqui Dillon, the CEO of SAFE Network said.
“As Ministers Bennett and Goodhew have announced, this will not only support first-line responses but also provide stability for community-based treatment services such as SAFE, STOP and Well STOP that have been shown to be highly effective.
“The Ministers have shown leadership in supporting a successful response to an issue that affects the whole community.”
