ALCP Calls for Urgent Legislation for Personal Use of Cannabis

The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party calls for urgent legislation to allow the personal use of cannabis for adults.

Natural cannabis should be made available to anyone struggling to come off synthetic drugs, party leader Julian Crawford said.

A recent Campbell Live poll showed 84% support for decriminalising personal cannabis use.

"We are pleased that synthetics will have to be scientifically tested before being sold," Mr Crawford said.

"However, If we don't allow the use of natural cannabis, then there will be a lot of people suffering adverse withdrawal symptoms or turning to the black market."

ALCP support a new Act to regulate natural cannabis independently of the Psychoactive Substances Act.
