On The Nation this weekend… 26th-27th April 2014

On The Nation this weekend… we’ll examine the fallout from the departure of Shane Jones, and take a look at the priorities of the man who will replace him in Parliament, Kelvin Davis.

Then Lisa Owen will gauge reaction from Labour’s deputy leader David Parker and find out how he wants to change the Reserve Bank – and the effect that would have on the high New Zealand dollar, house prices and interest rates.

And with the growing public backlash against the Psychoactive Substances Act, associate Health Minister Peter Dunne and Local Government New Zealand president Lawrence Yule go head to head. They’ll debate whether the law is working, and if synthetic drugs should be banned outright.

We’ll examine all this and more with our panel Carterton mayor Ron Mark, former Labour Party candidate Josie Pagani, and Metro magazine editor Simon Wilson.

The Nation on TV3, 9.30am Saturdays and 10am Sundays.
