Even if Chardonnay doesn’t like your
Michael Jackson dance moves, that’s no reason for you to
be made fun of.
Renowned Kiwi director, Taika Waititi has pledged his support to the Mad Butcher’s anti-bullying campaign #BeefWithBullies. With years of experience in film making, Taika has been enlisted to provide a discerning eye when it comes to analysing the school kids’ short films.
#BeefWithBullies is an anti-bullying campaign aimed at high schools, launched on April 1, 2014. More than 200 high schools nationwide have been nominated by their local Mad Butcher stores to produce a two-minute anti-bullying video for their chance to win a private concert by Titanium as well as lots of other prizes.
Taika joins funny-man Dai Henwood and Kiwi starlet Kimberley Crossman on the judges’ panel – in June the three get to select the winning submission.
Mad Butcher CEO Michael Morton is elated by how well the campaign has been received in only two weeks.
“We’ve been blown away with the response – through social media and directly through the stores,” Morton says.
“Securing support from well-known Kiwis has really helped us spread the anti-bullying message far and wide; and now having someone as globally influential as Taika Waititi sign on to support the campaign, it just goes to show how important this message is.”
Other local celebrities lending their support include the Mad Butcher himself, Sir Peter Leitch, TV personalities Dai Henwood and Kimberley Crossman, sports stars Shane “The Mountain Warrior” Cameron, The Warriors and John Callen of the Hobbit. Follow the campaign at Facebook.com/MadButcherMeats.
