Kim Dotcom: So I’m personally aiming at 7.8%, that’s the goal that I set to myself…
Brook Sabin: Very specific number…
Can I ask why that is?
I dreamt about it.
Is there an element even, albeit small of revenge on John Key?
Well, obviously I launched the party out of this experience of injustice, and I felt a strong urge that no one should
ever be, experiencing that again. So that was, where the idea for the internet party was born.
Is there an element of revenge though?
I wouldn’t say there’s an element of revenge, I’m past that point, I mean I’m fighting my legal battles and that will
play out in court. What I’m really interested in is to show that, the Internet Party can actually bring about change
that New Zealand really needs and take us into the digital future.
Is that still the plan?
Well here’s the thing, I mean if we have an electorate, uh, it’s not really necessary right, so I’ve been spending a lot
of time meeting with a lot of people to try and secure an electorate for the Internet Party, and I’m pretty confident
that we have one, so now there’s no need for us to pull the plug is we don’t poll around 5%.
Is that person Hone Harawira in Te Tai Tokerau?
I don’t want to comment on that, I’ve been talking to a lot of politicians all right? From all different parties, Mana
is one of parties that we’re looking at for a partnership all right? But we want to form an alliance; we want to bring
in everyone who can see that what we are doing is good for New Zealand, and that’s the goal.
Hone Harawira is known as a bit of a fire brand around parliament, could you work with that?
I can work with Hone Harawira, yes.
So (Te Tai Tokerau) you’re potentially looking at that seat?
Potentially, but you see it would happen in an alliance where the parties come together and try to achieve a joint
Have you lost count about how many MP’s you’ve met?
See, I take this very seriously, and that’s what this should show everybody, I’ve had meetings with a lot of politicians
because I wanted to learn everything about the game.
Well I have to say I was actually quite disappointed when some MPs linked this to my extradition, you know. I think that
was very unfortunate because I believe in the New Zealand judicial system, and I wouldn’t accept any minister of justice
to overrule what that courts are deciding after, you know a long time evaluating all these legal challenges. So I think
that would be wrong, and that’s not why I’m doing this.
So just to be clear, you would be happy for the justice minister to sign the dotted line, you wouldn’t want them to
overturn a decision from the courts?
If the courts come to the decision that I should be extradited, well then that’s how it should be.
Have you got physical proof that John Key knew about you earlier than he says?
So black and white proof?
When will that emerge?
Well, it would have to emerge during our extradition hearing, where we’re going to challenge the whole extradition
process because of political interference.
This piece of information though, if it exists, goes to the core of John Key’s credibility. Shouldn’t that come out
before the election?
Well again it’s something for the courts, you know. It’s not a question that we should talk about because it’s way too
important that these things play out in court.
Do you have Nazi memorabilia?
Look, I’m a “Call of Duty” player right? So if you know that game “Call of Duty”, it’s all about World War Two , and how
you play. And I’m a big fan of that, and I’ve bought memorabilia from Churchill, from Stalin, from Hitler…
Is it an ethical investment?
Well, I don’t know if it’s an ethical investment but, I’ve got to tell you this. If anyone is trying to uh, you know
take this and use this against me, I think it’s clearly wrong, because you’ve got to look at who I am right? I have all
this foreign stuff.
Well he called us the no hope party, he said that we’re a political joke and he said that I’m an idiot. Right? Well
let’s see…let’s see after the election, You know? I don’t think that I want to respond with words, I want to respond
with actions, and I want to show him how important the Internet Party is for New Zealand.
