Alliance Already in Place

Alliance Already in Place

Alliance Co-Leader and former Alliance MP Kevin Campbell says to Hone Harawira that he doesn’t need to re-invent the wheel. Campbell was responding to the Mana Party Leader’s comment that it was interested in an Alliance similar to the Alliance Party of the 1990’s. The Alliance Party is still around and is available to work with any electorate MP, or anyone else who can helpto change the Government at the next election.

“The Alliance hasn’t got millions of dollars to offer but it does have millions of good ideas for advancing the Common Good and inter-connectedness of all New Zealanders. Poverty in New Zealand is a hidden festering injustice and politicians need to make its eradication a priority”, Campbell said.

Alliances do change governments - The Alliance track record in Coalition Government with Labour speaks for itself: buying back into state assets previously flogged off by short sighted governments, creating a new state asset in Kiwibank, introducing New Zealand’s first paid parental leave, creating a Ministry of Economic and Regional Development after years of abandonment of the regions and economy, creating over 80,000 new jobs while in Coalition Government, being sensible and getting tough on the causes of crime and healing its effects on victims and offenders by making it mandatory for Judges to consider Restorative Justice recommendations before sentencing, affordable rental housing with a policy of income related rents and many more good ideas to make up the millions.

“If the Mana party takes a look at Alliance policies it will find comfort for its own ideas. If any current electorate MP is keen on an Alliance to increase the chances of changing the government at this election s/he can give us a call. We are ready and waiting. We surely can’t do it alone”.

As far as vehicles go; the Alliance is a bit like the Kiwibank car on the adverts, small but keen to deliver. “We are on the road, registered, warranted, have a little petrol, a good crew but could do with more petrol and a few more passengers to get to where we all want to go – a change of government in September”, Campbell said.
