FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Simon Randall appointed Chair at New Zealand AIDS Foundation
The NZAF Board has elected Simon Randall and appointed him Chair of the Board of Trustees. The appointment coincides with NZAF’s highlights of the year, the LYC Big Gay Out.
Mr. Randall brings many years’ experience on a diverse range of governance boards ranging from student organisations to arts and cultural trusts. He has been active in a range of LGBT activities over the years, has a science and school teaching background and is currently the Chair of the Maungakiekie- Tāmaki Local Board of the Auckland Council.
“Congratulations to Simon, and a big thank you to Andrew Sweet who has stepped down as the Chair, but continues to serve on NZAF’s Board,” says Shaun Robinson, NZAF’s Executive Director. “Being on the Board in any capacity is a lot of work. And we’re lucky to have qualified, experienced and passionate people believe in NZAF’s mission.”
Mr. Randall is expected to steer the course as the Organisation evolves to remain relevant in a changing landscape in HIV prevention. “I am privileged to take over as chair at a time when the AIDS Foundation’s Trust Board is in a good place. I look forward to playing an active role in ensuring the Foundation continues to build on its many successes but also is more and more able to respond to new challenges.” says Simon Randall.
