This report examines two topics important to raising services-sector productivity: increasing successful application of information and communications technology by service firms, and stimulating competition in service markets.  Draft recommendations include ways to encourage consumers to put more competitive pressure on service suppliers, improve competition law, raise the level of ICT skills in the workforce and increase the uptake of cloud computing.

We appreciate the high quality feedback and submissions that we have received already in this inquiry.  We are seeking submissions on the questions, findings and recommendations over the next month. Submissions may be made:

•          online: www.productivity.govt.nz/make-a-submission
•          by e-mail: info@productivity.govt.nz
•          postal address: PO Box 8036, Wellington 6143

Submissions close on 7 March and the Commission will deliver the final report to Government by the end of April.
