Nomenclature

At the end of each year, the fine folks at Oxford select a word they consider to be of particular social and cultural relevance that it deserves to be branded 'Word of the Year.' This year that word is 'selfie' - as in self-portrait via a portable camera. You may disagree with their selection, but you must admit it is a notable improvement over Sarah Palin's 'refudiate.'
The language of the broadband video space is certainly not immune to such gaffes. Of late, I've become so frustrated with the language we use (yes, we're all guilty here) that I would like to nominate a few words that in my book have earned special distinction - so much that they need to be eliminated from our vocabulary or, at minimum, refined so that they add clarity to our discussions, not confusion.
