Board Allocations Made To Council Committees
The Independent Māori Statutory Board has allocated its board members across 15 of the 19 Auckland Council governing body committees. The board members will sit on these committees for the next three-year term.
Appointments made to the full committees of council, being the committees that include all 21 councillors, are Chairman David Taipari and John Tamihere on the Budget, and the Finance and Organisation Performance committees. These committees are chaired by Mayor Len Brown and Councillor Penny Webster respectively.
Deputy Chairman Glenn Wilcox along with the newly-appointed Kris MacDonald will sit on the Regional Strategy and Policy committee. New appointees Josie Smith and Liane Ngamane will be a part of the Auckland Development Committee.
Independent Māori Statutory Board Chairman David Taipari says: “The new board members bring an impressive array of experience to the table and are expected to provide significant value for both the committees and the board”.
