Lianne Dalziel highest-polling candidate for Mayor of Christchurch
The progress results of the Christchurch 2013 local body elections are now in, showing that Lianne Dalziel is currently the highest-polling candidate for the position of Mayor of Christchurch.
So far, 70,403 votes have been received for Lianne Dalziel. Her closest rival, Paul Lonsdale, has received 22,215 votes, a difference of 48,188. Paul Lonsdale is one of the two highest-polling candidates for Councillor in the Hagley–Ferrymead ward.
Voting closed at noon today (Saturday 12 October). This result is based upon 98 per cent of returned voting papers. The progress result does not include special votes and voting papers returned today before voting closed.

Riccarton–Wigram Ward Councillors
Vicki Buck (10,979 votes)
Jimmy Chen (6794 votes)
Shirley–Papanui Ward Councillors
Ali Jones (8750 votes)
Pauline Cotter (6036 votes)
Spreydon–Heathcote Ward Councillors
Phil Clearwater (7335 votes)
Tim Scandrett (5573 votes)
The full progress results, including Community Board members, can be viewed at www.ccc.govt.nz/elections. Preliminary results are expected to be released this evening.
With at least 1500 ordinary votes plus special votes still to process, it is hoped that the final declaration of results will take place by Saturday 19 October.
