Saturday 14th September: In 2005 Ngawha Prison was finally opened dispite anger and protests from local Maori. Ngapuhi kaumatua Ron Wihongi was one of those who protested against the building of the prison because of the site that was used. Ngawha Springs is a waahi tapu and a healing spring that locals had used for centuries. This week Ron talks about the Ngawha Springs and the spirituality surrounding it and environmental damage caused to other surrounding landmarks including Lake Omapere
Sunday 15th September: Mania Clark is from Tainui. A Maori language journalist she is also a devout Christian, She works as a broadcaster for Christian broadcasters Radio Rhema and Shine TV. Mania also hosts Te Rongopai - The Good Word, a Christian faith show on Radio Waatea.
Mania talks with Eruera Morgan about Christianity and whether schools need to be including bible studies into their curriculum. She also talks about Maori losing faith demonstrated by the ever decreasing numbers od them attending church.
