Crown Law Office Leads the Legal Profession with Dimension Data Virtual Desktop
Wellington, 27 August 2013 – Dimension Data New Zealand has announced the Crown Law Office in New Zealand is the first organisation to transform its desktop platform with 3D Workspace, giving its Crown Counsel the capability to securely access its corporate desktops on any device, anywhere.
With 3D Workspace, Dimension Data has combined global capability and relationships together with local knowledge and skills to deliver a compelling New Zealand-based desktop solution for organisations wanting modern virtual and traditional desktop provision and management.
An outsourced solution for cloud and traditional computer users, 3D Workspace can be scaled up and down to meet the evolving requirements of both the user and the business.
Hayley Carthy, Crown Law CIO, says the organisation recognised a need to lighten its paper load, and sought an effective strategy that would see its counsel provided with all the case information they needed at their fingertips.
“Our move to a new, open plan workspace was an opportune time to make this change, and Dimension Data’s 3D Workspace offered an immediate, cost-effective solution to our requirements.
“Our Crown Counsel will now have the ability to securely access our corporate desktop from iPads, and will be able to work collaboratively and more effectively throughout our office, as well as in the courtroom or client’s place of work.
“The recent spate of earthquakes in Wellington has also highlighted how useful this approach will be when our staff want or need to work outside the traditional office environment.”
With Crown Law’s strict security standards, Dimension Data proved an ideal fit to provide the organisation with a solution.
“Security is a real imperative for Crown Law, and Dimension Data’s track record with one.govt gave us the assurance and confidence that it would meet our security needs and deliver 3D Workspace in a manner that is consistent with those ideals and goals,” adds Carthy.
Simon Gillespie, CEO at Dimension Data New Zealand, says, “Dimension Data’s 3D Workspace provides a flexible, efficient and highly cost-effective service for organisations wishing to integrate the best of the virtual desktop experience with that of the traditional desktop.”
“Crown Law no longer needs to worry about where employees are based, or the mechanics of IT delivery.  Instead, we’ve made innovative consumption based services available so Crown Law, and other organisations in the future, can work more efficiently. Furthermore, Crown Law has been able to achieve this without the need for capital expenditure,” concludes Gillespie.
