Saturday 3rd August: A racist tirade against an Invercargill taxi driver from Pakistan, and backlash against the Geographic Board’s recommendation that the Maori names for the North and South Islands can be used officially. Are these signs that some Pakeha New Zealanders feel their culture and even the English language is under attack? In Korero Mai Ki Ahau this weekend, Eruera Morgan talks with Massey University indigenous studies lecturer Tumatakuru O’Connell about the fears Pakeha may have about becoming a minority in Aotearoa.

Sunday 4th August: Rongoa Maori practitioners met at Parihaka last week to share knowledge on healing methods and discuss how they could safeguard their traditions while accepting a limited degree of government support. Percy Tipene from Ngapuhi is an advocate for traditional Maori healing. He speaks with Eru about the hui.

Korero Mai Ki Ahau a half hour features programme every Saturday and Sunday from noon, which takes an in – depth look at issues affecting te ao Maori. Totally in te reo Maori brought to you by Waatea News in association with Te Mangai Paho.
