Taranaki Regional Council publishes Pre-Election Report

Council publishes Pre-Election Report

1 August 2013

The Taranaki Regional Council has published a Pre-Election Report under a new mandatory requirement for councils to publicly report on their financial affairs ahead of elections.

The statutory purpose of the report is to provide information to promote public discussion about issues facing the Council.

The Pre-Election Report focuses on the Council’s financial and operational performance, current financial position and key spending issues over the coming years. It also has information on the works programme and major projects that the Council expects to deliver over the next three years.

As required, the report has been prepared and approved by the Council’s Chief Executive, Basil Chamberlain, rather than by the Council. Elected members have not had a role in the preparation of the report.

The report is available online at www.trc.govt.nz/council-elections-2013.
