Minister Simon Bridges Becomes a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management
On Friday 12th July Minister of Labour Simon Bridges accepted honorary membership of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM). The NZISM is the leading professional body for health and safety practitioners in New Zealand.
Tony Rigg National Manager of NZISM said “Simon Bridges is the Minster of Labour at a time of significant change in health and safety in New Zealand. Never before has the appetite for change and the opportunity for improvement been so aligned.”
NZISM support the Minister in his efforts to improve health and safety performance in New Zealand – and presentation of honorary membership of the institute is recognition of this.
The Minister’s acceptance of membership demonstrates not only his commitment to health and safety in New Zealand, but also to the professional working in this field who are members of NZISM.
Tony Rigg along with the NZISM Branch managers for Tauranga (Phil Sexton) and Waikato (Ravi Kolluru) met with the Minister to present the NZISM member certificate, and then took the Minister on a tour of the HEB/Fulton Hogan Tauranga Eastern Link Project.
