Pike River Coal Limited (In Receivership) sentencing
Brett Murray, General Manager High Hazards and Specialist Services says:
“The Judge’s decision today is the culmination of a significant investigative and legal process by the Ministry in relation to Pike River Coal Limited, following the tragic events of 19 November 2010.
The Ministry acknowledges however that no sentence will ever adequately reflect the pain felt by the families of the Pike 29.
The Ministry is unable to comment further while Mr Whittall’s matter is before the Court.“
