Model United Nations Comes to Wellington
Everything from Syria to Climate Change will be debated when the Asia –Pacific Model United Nations comes to town next week.
Over 370 delegates from countries as diverse as China, Malaysia, Australia and Samoa will be in Wellington for a 6 day talkfest on the theme of “Breaking Barriers“.
The delegates, who are potential leaders aged between 18 and 22, have been challenged to “create new solutions to old problems.”
This is just the second time this prestigious event will be held in New Zealand. Among the guest speakers will be the head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, John Allen and the Vice Chancellor of Victoria University, Professor Pat Walsh and former Prime Minister, Sir Geoffrey Palmer.
The Conference begins with an official welcome next Sunday the 7th of July at the Michael Fowler Centre. The event is supported by Victoria University, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British High Commission in Wellington.
