Henderson Mayor In the Chair
Henderson Mayor In the Chair
Len Brown is heading to Henderson for his next Mayor in the Chair, on Thursday 30 May.
He will be setting up his chairs at Westfield WestCity, keen to listen to people who live and work nearby share their concerns.
Mayor in the Chair sessions are regular, one-hour lunchtime events held in different areas around Auckland, when locals can take their turn, pull up a chair and have a brief one-to-one chat with the Mayor about any topic they wish.
“I hold these events in communities all over Auckland, and I love the chance to chat to locals about their experience of their local areas and wider Auckland,” says Len Brown.
The Mayor says he receives all kinds of feedback and fields questions about all areas of council activity as well as ideas for improving Auckland and its communities.
“Whether someone pulls up a chair at these events, comes along to one of my evening public meetings or just stops me on the street, it’s always a welcome chance to share my passion for Auckland and how we can make it better for everyone who lives, works, studies and plays here.”
“At my last Mayor in the Chair in Henderson, I discussed everything from public toilets to employment, boat ramps, bus terminals and local heritage buildings. I look forward to hearing what comes up this time around.”
The Mayor will be in Westfield WestCity, near the food court and Stewart Dawsons from noon to 1pm on Thursday 30 May.
