International speaker - Implementing Disabilities Convention

Implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
Date and Time: 3 April 2013, 3-4pm
Venue: Algie Lecture Theatre, 2nd Floor, Building 801, University of Auckland Law School, 9-17 Eden Crescent, Auckland
Ms Birtha is a researcher at the NUI Galway; she is exploring the framework for implementing and monitoring the CRPD. Under Article 33, this is supposed to involve the government, civil society and an appropriate independent mechanism or mechanisms. Ms Birtha is exploring good practice in this regard. She will report on her research to date and outline her ongoing programme. This is an opportunity to share ideas on this important question.
