Submissions to Taskforce to be Released on Website
Submissions to the Workplace Health and Safety Taskforce will be available for viewing on the Taskforce’s website as of today. The exception will be those submissions where confidentiality has been requested.
The Taskforce released a discussion document for comment in September last year and received over 400 submissions.
“We also met with almost 600 people at Hui, Fono, shop floor meetings, focus groups and public meetings up and down the country,” said workplace Health and Safety Chairman, Rob Jager.
“This has been a tremendous response and the Taskforce is now fully engaged in assessing submissions and beginning the process of creating its final recommendations to government.
“What is clear is that many organisations and individuals share the same concerns as we do about the state of our current workplace health and safety system. I also believe there is a groundswell of support for the types of changes we will almost certainly be recommending in our final report.”
The Taskforce’s final report is due to government on 30 April 2013. Submissions will be available at www.hstaskforce.govt.nz.
