Young Labour Putting Values in Action
Young Labour is busy putting our values in action by undertaking essential community in Waitakere and Onehunga. The service tour will stop in a number of cities throughout the North Island before finishing in Wellington next Friday.
“The Clarion Tour is all about walking the talk, about reaching out to community groups and offering a helping hand,” said Clarion Tour participant Sophie Pascoe. “It is great to be able to put our Labour values into action and work with a some really cool Auckland non-profits”
Yesterday, Young Labour enjoyed assisting the essential work undertaken by Project Twin Streams and learning about how we can best protect and enjoy our local environments. Project Twins is non-profit organisation focused on rehabilitating of two key West Auckland waterways by restoring native bush and stopping local pollution.
“Growing up in Henderson I have always been struck by how far we are from our 100% pure image in New Zealand. Project Twin Streams is playing an essential part in rehabilitating the environment in West Auckland to live up to our image.” said Shayne Misselbrook, Young Labour President, “Young Labour is proud to be playing our part.”
The 2013 tour, the third Clarion Tour to be organised by Young Labour, will include planting trees in Hamilton, cleaning up parks in Mana, and helping a number of other worthy causes.
Daily updates will be posted on Young Labour Facebook page and blog posts uploaded to clariontour.co.nz
