New Zealand's worst female offenders identified on-line
The Sensible Sentencing Trust has started up a new section on its online database Sentencing Tracker that list female
paedophiles and sex offenders and child killers in New Zealand. The Sentencing Tracker was created by Ross Crosby in
February 2009. Mr Crosby is one of two people who operate the Offender Databases on the Sensible Sentencing Trust’s
website. Mr Crosby has been a long-time advocate for the New Zealand government to have all the information it holds on
violent and sexual offenders made publicly available online.
"I don’t see this as being vindictive, and it’s not so much about naming and shaming, it’s more to promote awareness and
trying save victims of crime and potential victims of crime. I firmly believe the public have the right to know about
crime and who offenders are," Mr Crosby said.
One of reasons why the Sensible Sentencing Trust started up its own online Offender Databases is because it felt it was
the best way to put pressure on the New Zealand government to have all the information it holds on violent and sexual
offenders made publicly available online. ENDS
