2013 Census looking for 440 district supervisors
Statistics New Zealand is continuing its massive recruitment drive for the 2013 Census with a hunt for 440 district supervisors around New Zealand.
2013 Census General Manager, Carol Slappendel, says the successful recruitment of these roles is key to the overall success of the census.
“The next census will be held on Tuesday, 5 March 2013. It will involve the delivery and collection of census forms for an estimated 4.6 million people and 1.8 million dwellings,” she said.
“Around 7,000 census collectors will personally deliver forms to every household before census day, and promote completing census forms online.
“We need a big team of district supervisors to recruit and manage the thousands of collectors who will be delivering Internet Access Codes and census forms to all homes in New Zealand,” Carol Slappendel said.
Vacancies open for district supervisors today and close on 16 September.
After extensive training the district supervisors will be in the field from December. Recruitment for more than 7,000 collectors will begin in December.
