John Adsell – “I know whats good for New Zealand”

Te Runanga Whakawhanaunga i Ngā Hāhi o Aotearoa (TRWINH), NZ Māori Council of Churches, says to the ‘One Nation’ Kiwi/Iwi and ‘One size fits all' advocates, like adman John Adsell, to cease this “I know what’s good for NZ; to stop telling Māori how to be Māori and what’s good and what’s not good for them.” Does he and his 'ilk' still disguise their bigotry and imaginary fear with talk of Maorification as a smoke screen to avoid working for unity in diversity in NZ. TRWINH is primarily about what Māori want, what Māori are trying and struggling to hold on to, and what Māori want back if unjustly taken.

Māori TV's Native Affairs, aired this week, invited Mr. Adsell to comment on the programme.

Fr. Anthony Brown, Katorika Maori representative and spokesperson of TRWINH says to Māori TV, “you’ve set high standards in media reporting and journalism, don’t lower them by falling into the Tabloid Media play or ‘the public needs to know trap’ by interviewing Adsell and his ilk”. TRWINH ponders, “besides stirring up anger and allowing these people to soapbox their prejudice, kangakanga and tukino what other purpose would it serve?– 'tika' not 'teka', pono and aroha not pōrangi and awangawanga interviews please”.
