NZ ETS 2011 – Facts and figures
In August 2011, the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) published the Report on the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (PDF, 1.24 MB) (see below for more information). This report covered information from the first surrender period of the NZ ETS (1 July 2010 to 31 December 2010). It provided a description of the NZ ETS and presented key information relevant to that period.
This year’s factsheet (PDF, 2.79 MB) is a trimmed-down version of last year’s report. It presents some of the same key facts and figures, but for the second surrender period (1 January 2011 to 31 December 2011). This factsheet does not repeat the sector-by-sector explanation of the NZ ETS provided last year. For more in-depth explanation of the NZ ETS, please refer instead to last year’s Report.
